INFORMATION THAT WE COLLECT FROM YOU

When you visit, register or order products or services on www.manhattanportage.co.uk you may be asked to provide certain information about yourself including your name, contact details and credit or debit card information. We do not store any credit or debit card information on this website, your credit/debit card details are sent to our credit card processor, this information isnot seen or stored by us.

We may also collect information about your usage of our website as well as information about you from messages you post to the website and e-mails or letters you send to us. 

Your information will enable us to provide you with access to all parts of our website and to supply the goods or services you have requested. It will also enable us to bill you and to contact you where necessary concerning your orders. We will also use and analyse the information we collect so that we can administer, support, improve and develop our business. 

In particular, we may use your information to contact you for your views on our services and to notify you occasionally about important changes or developments to the website or our services. Further, where you have consented, we might also use your information to let you know by email about other products and services which we offer which may be of interest to you.  If you change your mind about being contacted in the future, please let us know.

The information you provide to us may be accessed by or given to third parties some of whom may be located outside the European Economic Area who act for us for the purposes set out in this policy or for other purposes approved by you.  Those parties process information, to fulfil and deliver orders, process credit card payments (this will be our credit card processor) and  provide support services on our behalf.  

We will not pass any of your information onto any other Company other than the couriers and our card payment processors who are acting on our behalf in order for them to provide a delivery service. 

Finally, if our business enters into a joint venture with or is sold to or merged with another business entity, your information may be disclosed to our new business partners or owners. 

Countries outside the European Economic Area do not always have strong data protection laws.  However, we will always take steps to ensure that your information is used by third parties in accordance with this policy.  

Unless required to do so by law, we will not otherwise share, sell or distribute any of the information you provide to us without your consent.   

COOKIES

SECURITY AND DATA RETENTION

3D SECURE VIA NOCHEX

To help ensure that your shopping experience is safe, simple and secure, Manhattan Portage website uses 3D Secure (Three Domain Secure) via our Nochex payment Gateway. No information taken from your card is held or viewed at this office.  At your transaction stage once you have entered the checkout, you are taken to the Nochex Gateway to make payment and then returned to this website for completion.  

3D Secure is the payment industry's internet authentication standard which has been developed by the major credit card schemes. Visa has called their version of the scheme 'Verified by Visa' and Mastercard have called their equivalent initiative 'MasterCard SecureCode'. These are both collectively referred to as 3D Secure. 

3D Secure is thought of as an online version of 'Chip and Pin' technology, and requires the cardholder to register their card to take advantage of this service.  This is a one time process which takes place on the card issuer's website and involves the cardholder answering several security questions to which only the card issuer and cardholder will know the answer. The card holder selects a password and agrees on a secret phrase, this will be issued during each online transaction.

Nochex will automatically check to see if the cardholder is enrolled in the 3D Secure scheme. If the cardholder's bank is participating, the cardholder is then taken to their secure website where they enter their 3D Secure Password. Payment is then taken as normal and the cardholder is smoothly delivered back to the merchants confirmation page.

If a cardholder of a bank who is participating in the 3D Secure scheme has not yet enrolled, by default, they are offered the opportunity to register.  They can then either sign up for a 3D Secure, and proceed with the transaction or decline to sign up and proceed with the transaction as normal.

If the cardholder's bank are not currently participating in the 3D Secure Scheme, the transaction will be processed without a 3D Secure Check.

You are entitled to see the information held about you and you may ask us to make any necessary changes to ensure that it is accurate and kept up to date.  If you wish to do this, please contact us at enquiries@manhattanportage.co.uk.  We are entitled by law to charge a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you. 

Any changes to our privacy policy in the future will be posted to the website and, where appropriate, through e-mail notification.
